On 1 September, the long-awaited ring road started operating, creating new and fast bus connections between important centres in Harju County. Route 199 runs on the Saue-Saku-J\u00fcri-Mustakivi route and has so far made over 10,000 boardings.<\/p>\n
For many years, the connections between the important settlements of Harju County were only possible via Tallinn, which was cited as a negative example of the public transport network. Now, faster direct connections have been established, with a very good frequency for passengers - 17 times every working day. In addition, there are train connections at Saku station and also at Saue station. This will bring public transport closer to the Kohila-Rapla-Viljandi route and also to the Keila connection from Saue. Line 199 will be an important addition to the whole network.<\/p>\n
The analysis of the feedback showed that the 199 bus service is a highly appreciated and valued option for residents. Many of the suggestions made were to extend the service area to reach more destinations and serve a wider area.<\/p>\n

In total, these proposals amount to 114%, as several respondents mentioned more than one.<\/p>\n
Based on feedback, some changes were already introduced on the route at the end of October. The most important of these is the much requested IKEA entry, which added a stop at Kangrumetsa in both directions. While the IKEA entrance with the new Kangrumetsa bus stop could be quickly solved - it did not require additional vehicles and it was still possible to ensure train-bus transfers in Saku, which was one of the prerequisites for the opening of the route - the addition of the stop at Lagedi is more complex. The feedback gives IIL a clear indication of the wishes and expectations of the people of L\u00e1ged for connections. We hope to take steps in this direction in the coming year, with an application for a state grant being made, which will be reviewed and approved or rejected in early 2026.<\/p>\n
The number of line users increased by 28% in October compared to September. The most popular stops in November have been Blackstone, Fire, Water Tower and Kangrumetsa. We are pleased that the IKEA entry has been immediately well received by passengers.<\/p>\n
As the route is still new, passenger numbers are not yet high. It will take time to get up and running - people will need to find new connections and try them out first. The IIL is asking people to share information about the circular bus service with their friends and family so that the convenient connection reaches more passengers.<\/p>\n
