Until now, the single ticket was only available as a 30-day ticket.

The ticket is valid on Elron trains, Tallinn city trains and regional trains of the North-Estonian Public Transport Centre and allows unlimited journeys and transfers during the validity period of the ticket.

Minister for Regional Affairs and Agriculture Hendrik Johannes Terrase The change is aimed in particular at people who use more than one mode of transport or want to do so in the future. „The choice of a 1-30 day validity period for a single ticket will make the use of public transport more flexible, taking more account of the needs of each individual passenger, and will support the development of a single ticketing system, where train, city and regional services operate as a single service for the individual,“ said Terras.

Tickets can be purchased on a single card from Elron (www.elron.ee), the North-Estonian Public Transport Centre (iil.pilet.ee) and from the website of the Tallinn Transport Department (tallinn.pilet.ee), as well as from Selver's information kiosk and R-Kioski.

The price of a 30-day single ticket from 16 March ranges from €48 to €90, depending on the area of validity or zones. Until now, the price of a 30-day single ticket ranged from €46 to €114. This means that the price of the most expensive single ticket will drop by €24.

Starting from 16 March, the fares on the regional lines operated by the North-Estonian Public Transport Centre will also change. Single ticket prices will increase by up to 9 percent and 30-day ticket prices by 5-9 percent. On public long-distance routes, fares will increase by an average of 6-13%. The adjustment of fares is necessary to make ticketing systems compatible between different regions and operators and to allow the use of a single ticket.

Passengers using only one mode of transport will continue to be able to buy the current single and season tickets.
